Zeitlupe - HYB4 Gallery by Dominik Adamec 8.4.2022 - 28.4.2022Curator: Karolína Juřicová
Text
In a wide range of differences, species multiply and respond to the environment through adaptation and cooperation.
Sculptor Dominik Adamec is fascinated by heteropia, verifies established systems and looks for abnormalities in the biology of organisms and their developmental modifications. To what extent can we trust scientific analyzes that change over time and bring autonomous examples to life without predicted patterns?
What may discoveries in the field of microbiology look like, and what questions do emerge from them? Can something that is largely invisible become a theme for a work of art?
The Zeitlupe multimedia exhibition focuses on the microscopic world – by means of new media and sculpture, it approaches the invisible complex of relationships, colours and shapes, cultivating its relationship with humans through fine art. Zeitlupe connects various strategies used within the museum and gallery environment and touches on the subject of representation of and approach to beauty. It paradoxically connects art with microbiology, for which aesthetics has never been the main focus. Even though it´s immeasurable it expands with each new scientific discovery.
