In a world where the pace of life seems to accelerate endlessly and the digital dissonance often drowns our inner voices, Ivana Bajec's art emerges as a sanctuary – a refuge for the viewer to pause, reflect, and find solace in our own experiences. Within this intricate tapestry of our interconnected world, the boundaries between the virtual and the tangible blur. The online realm infiltrates our daily lives, creating a dynamic landscape where Bajec's works come to life, pulsating with vibrant energy and thought-provoking depth.

Central to the works of the Ljubljana-based artist, is a celebration of the digital zeitgeist, where internet and social media phenomena become the building blocks of artistic expression. Yet, amidst the expressive juxtaposition of symbols, abstract and figurative elements, a deeper narrative unfolds – one that speaks to the complexities of mental well-being in the digital age. Through a delicate balance of humor and introspection, Bajec tackles the anxieties and pressures deeply rooted in our hyper-connected society, offering a moving reflection on the human condition.

Nevertheless, at the heart of Bajec's work lies a profound exploration of mental health – a thread that runs through the fabric of every composition. Despite often being shrouded in stigma and silence, Bajec addresses the topic with compassion and empathy. She confronts the complexities of the human experience, offering glimpses into the hidden spaces within one's being. Each painting becomes a mirror, reflecting the joys and sorrows, the hopes and fears that shape our inner landscape. "Forget Forgot Forgotten" is not merely a title; it is a mantra – a call to embrace the transient nature of memory and the enigmatic depths of the human psyche. Through her evocative brushstrokes and occasional subtle symbolism, Bajec invites us to embark on a journey of remembrance and release, where the boundaries between past and present blur into a kaleidoscope of sensation.

Ivana Bajec (Pula, 1990) engages in drawing, graphic art, and painting. She completed her undergraduate and postgraduate studies in painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Ljubljana. She has participated in many group and independent shows in Slovenia, Croatia, Rumania, and Germany. Special mention ought to be made of her presentation at RAVNIKAR GALLERY SPACE (2021) and SWAB Barcelona Art Fair. In her artistic creativity, she prioritizes improvisation, experimentation, and exploration, with her canvases often acting as painted diaries combining abstractions and elusive humorous depictions, sequencing daily impressions, feelings, and fragments. This renders her artistic expression a rather spontaneous and playful one, permeated with witty and sometimes also provocative confessional style.
